Xhorse VVDI PROG EEPROM Programmer (commonly used with software version 5.2.5, though newer versions like 5.3.x exist)

Function: It is a multi-purpose programmer tool designed to read, write, erase, verify EEPROM, Flash, ECU, MCU, IMMO, dashboards, etc. in automotive modules.

Interface / Connection: USB communication to PC; some operations may require external 12 V supply (for modules)

Update / Software: Comes with built-in update capability. As of software version 5.2.5, “this version doesn’t need firmware update”.

Supported Chip / Module Types: A very broad list — EEPROMs, MCUs, Flash, many automotive brands/modules (BMW, Audi, Ford, Mercedes, etc.)

Error / Smart Mode Features: Smart operation mode can suggest possible causes of errors; self-test function to check device health; reserve ports for future expansion.

Power Handling: Can draw power via USB for lower voltage operations; for modules requiring higher voltage (e.g. 12 V rail), the software will prompt for external supply.

Chip / Module Adaptation: Uses adapters, clips, cables for connecting to different chip packages and modules.

BMW ISN / Special Features: It supports reading BMW ISN (for certain ECUs) particularly when using Bosch ECU Adapter.
